Anton Seelenbacher opened Seelenbacher Jewelers as a small watch repair business in Oakland, CA in 1966. As his family grew in size, Anton expanded his business, adding more jewelry. In 1971, he moved the business to its current location in Alameda. In 1982, his son Chris began an apprenticeship at the store, and ten years later Anton retired after more than 30 years as a master watchmaker. Today, Chris Seelenbacher continues the family tradition of providing high quality jewelry and watches, custom jewelry design, and jewelry and watch repair to Alameda and Bay Area customers.

The Seelenbacher family is actively involved in the community, supporting organizations such as Girls Inc., the Alameda Boys & Girls Club, Alameda Little League, local churches, the Alameda schools and other local sports programs, charities, and nonprofit organizations.
